The relaxed, welcoming atmosphere made it easy to settle in for a long meal. It felt more suited to conversation and family gatherings than rushing people through, and the staff were friendly and professional without hovering. The fish was a highlight: crisp golden skin, moist inside, and fresh, straightforward flavor. It needed only lemon. The meat was tender and cooked well, with boiled potatoes and a rich creamy sauce; lingonberries added a nice contrast without taking over. Both dishes showed care with the basics. The cooking sticks to classic regional food without unnecessary fuss. From the first plate to the last sip, everything felt thoughtful and satisfying. This restaurant was fantastic, and the meal was memorable. I’d gladly return, especially with guests who want to try good regional cooking.

We only visited the beer garden, so this review is just about that part of the venue. The food was great and the beer fantastic. There’s also a lovely little playground with a trampoline and some old tractors.

I’ve been coming here since I was a child in the 1980s, and it’s still my regular hotel and restaurant whenever I’m in Kastl. The family who own it always recognize me and are friendly and helpful whenever I need anything. It has changed and improved a lot over the years, while staying welcoming.

A quiet, comfortable, clean room and a plentiful, tasty breakfast. The owners are wonderful and very accommodating. It’s a lovely base for exploring the region without staying in a city.

We stayed one night with our dog, and were glad we did. The hotel and rooms were really nice and super clean, with an authentic feel, and everyone was friendly to both us and the dog. The restaurant served generous portions at good prices. The location worked out well for us: the village on one side looks like a postcard, and on the other there are woods where we walked the dog and enjoyed great views. We’d recommend staying here.
