The inn’s balconies look out over the Bavarian countryside, and the gardens are striking and meticulously kept. Breakfast was wonderful, and our hosts were friendly. There’s a 15-minute walk to Weltenberg Abbey on the Danube, with a back path into the monastery that you’ll likely have to yourself. Along it is a ruin high above the river, so old that no one seems sure whether it was a small Roman fort or one of the earliest Benedictine monasteries. This was a very pleasant B&B for family fun. One practical point: our third-party booking service missed the message that cards aren’t accepted, so bring cash. The closest ATM is in Kilheim, 15 minutes away.

Breakfast was good quality, and the hostess was friendly and helpful. The setting is quiet and pleasant, tucked into the hills. Just be aware that there aren’t many restaurants close by for an evening arrival. Kelheim, the neighboring town, has more options.

We had a peaceful, really lovely stay and would recommend it. The mother and daughter who work here were both kind and helpful. I left my headphones in the room, but they mailed them back and I got them within two days. Thank you!

The location was great, breakfast generous, and everything clean and well cared for. The host family were friendly, and we felt completely comfortable. We’d gladly return.
