Haus Steinbach

The guesthouse is only 300 meters from the beach, which made the location ideal. We had a very pleasant stay, and we're grateful to the lovely family. The atmosphere was warm and homelike, and the couple who run the place live in the house, so someone is always around to help. They look after guests with care and attention to detail. I'm usually a devoted fan of breakfast buffets, but I was happy, full, and satisfied with what was served. There was plenty of choice, including salads and boiled eggs, and some dishes were brought right to the table. It was a genuinely gourmet breakfast. The only timing issue for me was that breakfast at 8:30 a.m. felt late when I'm normally up at 6:00, so the wait seemed long. That's just my personal preference. The room was spacious, clean, and pleasantly decorated in a nautical style, with lots of storage. The mattress was in excellent condition, the duvet was comfortably light, and there were different pillows to choose from. They'd also provided a chair for luggage and a few hangers in the wardrobe. A full-length mirror on the wall would be a nice addition. It can get noisy when the kettle just outside the room is being used, or when the neighbors shower or talk, so earplugs may be useful. I mention the noise because it came up more than once during our stay.

The owners are wonderfully friendly and gave us a real holiday feeling. This is a pleasant little house divided into several units, not far from the beach, and it works well for a family trip or a stay without family. Breakfast is served from 8 to 10 a.m. The walls aren't especially soundproof, so noise in the house may depend on how many guests are there. The surrounding area is very quiet, though, which means it doesn't cause much trouble.

We only managed to stay with you once, and that was because of Covid and our health, not anything you did. It's already been a few years, and I hope we'll meet again sometime. The welcome was so warm, the relaxed, family-like atmosphere made us feel at home right away, and any special requests were gladly taken care of. My room with a balcony was fantastic, as was my parents' room. Breakfast left nothing wanting, and we enjoyed good conversations over breakfast and during breaks. The beach is just a stone's throw away, and Kellenhusen is a dream for young and old alike. The mini-golf course on the beach is lovingly maintained too, and guests can play at a special rate. Haus Steinbach exceeded our expectations, and we'd love to come back and recommend it. The hostess was lovely and friendly, and seemed to have thought of everything. Our room was clean and the beds were unusually comfortable for a guesthouse. Breakfast was varied and thoughtfully prepared. The beach and plenty of restaurants are nearby, while the grocery store is about a 10-minute walk away. It's a beautiful guesthouse, furnished with a lot of care.
