Sport Hotel Kenzingen

The meals were all delicious, and the food service team was great. I also had a wonderful, clean room that was easy to access, and the indoor pickleball and tennis court made for a fun extra. Petra deserves a special thanks for making check-in easy and greeting me so warmly. I had a lovely stay thanks to her and the rest of the staff, and I’ll definitely come back!

The breakfast was disappointing: very little variety, nothing to refill, and no real options for vegetarians or vegans. The pool wasn't always available, and the water had a strong smell. Reception was unstaffed from 10 to 16:30, so early check-in wasn't possible and it was very inconvenient. At night, the separate entrance was confusing and poorly arranged. The reception staff were rude and unhelpful. After I posted, the hotel owner called and insulted me, saying it was an intelligence problem if someone couldn't find the night entrance and that they weren't responsible for it. He also said I should never come back. Honestly, a simple apology would've been enough. Why make the situation worse? The hotel stay itself was already unacceptable, and now this has disturbed my daily life too. If this is the kind of hotel service and experience you want, good luck!

When I arrived, I heard the manager talking to his employees, and it was just OMG. He seems to do the minimum to get the maximum, while the employees really can't help it. Nobody takes responsibility here. They just pass it to the people on the next shift.

There was a horrible smell in both the room and bathroom, and the soap bottle was only half full. The place was unhygienic and clearly hadn't been cleaned properly. I found a cockroach and hairs from other guests on the bed. It was summer, but there was no proper ventilation or air conditioning when I came in. The advertised balcony wasn't included either. I usually don't mind paying £80 for a hotel, but this one was just awful. If you're spending £80 for one night, at least expect basic hygiene. Honestly, I wouldn't give it even one star if I could. This place is disgusting, and I wouldn't recommend it. Don't waste your money.
