Hampton by Hilton Kiel

The hotel itself was very nice, with comfortable rooms and no complaints from me about them. Staff were friendly and helpful every time, even when I came down in the middle of the night. The breakfast buffet was simple but good, and the selection changed depending on which days you stayed. The location is quite strategic, though there was a lot of road construction during my visit and traffic was pretty bad. There's a breakfast area and a bar serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, plus a small range of pizzas. No restaurant on site, so lunch and dinner have to be found elsewhere.

We arrived late but found a parking spot easily in the large lot beside the hotel. The evening staff were really welcoming, friendly, and chatty. Our room was tidy, clean, and comfortable, with good lighting and comfortable beds. Breakfast was decent and had what you'd need. Being near the city center was a nice bonus.

It's a nice hotel in a good spot in the city, and breakfast is generous with plenty of variety. Sadly, the reception staff were unpleasant.

We booked a room for three, with a double bed and a fold-out sofa bed, and the hotel knew that. But when we arrived, the room wasn't set up for three people. We raised it with staff several times during the day and evening. They said their laundry supplier had a problem and they were short on linens, but they didn't seem concerned or willing to help. One of us ended up sleeping on the unmade sofa bed with blankets we'd brought from the car. We later asked for compensation because we hadn't been given the room for three that we'd booked. The hotel didn't seem to care. The whole place also felt disorganized, both in service and logistics. The two elevators were so overwhelmed that getting up or down from the 13th floor was impossible. At breakfast, most of the food was already gone by 9 o'clock. We left with a very bad impression, and I would NOT recommend Hampton by Hilton in Kiel to anyone.
