Hotel an der Hörn

I booked and paid for the room through booking, then a few days later the hotel messaged to say it was closing and my reservation would no longer be available. I tried to sort out the details by text, but they only replied once a day. After a very rude phone call, I had to handle everything through booking support. There was no service at all.

The morning concierge is the only reason I'd give the service a star. In the evening, buying anything besides bottled beer was refused, even though the restaurant and bar stay open until 22. A Coca Cola was available in a glass, lukewarm from an already opened bottle and without ice. The rooms were clean enough, but the TV didn't work. Some rooms had no minibar, and some didn't even have a garbage can. The amenities were very basic. Overpriced, with unbelievably rude staff.

The room was booked for two, but there was only one pillow and blanket. It was supposed to have a balcony, but didn't, and the TV was out of order. The bathroom towels were very small, and parking was awful. I wouldn't recommend it.

It's a short walk to the city centre, with a big room, lots of space, a balcony and a parking garage. Breakfast was okay, and the location is great for the ferries. The downside was the noise from the railway and bridge outside our room. There was no fan or air conditioning, so the only way to get fresh air was to open the window or door towards the bridge and tracks. Luckily it wasn't too hot that night.
