The apartment was luxurious and had absolutely everything we could wish for. We stayed in “Kapitän sein” at the “Kajüte Holtenau” holiday apartment from July 9th to 13th, 2025. The location is perfect, close to the Holtenau lighthouse, Holtenau beach and lots of possible excursions. Communication with the landlord was quick and very friendly. We’d love to come back. It feels like home, with the sea too.

The location is fantastic, and the apartments are very nice. The landlords were so friendly and gave us great tips. I also loved the idea of donating the dog fee to the local animal shelter.

From the outside, these look like great apartments. The building used to be the main guardhouse at the entrance to Naval Air Station 5, where I was stationed for a year. You can still see dates in the bricks, carved by the guards to mark the date of their last watch.

The two little apartments upstairs are lovely. I haven’t seen the one downstairs yet. The apartment has a Nespresso coffee machine, toaster and kettle, which is really great. Towels and made beds are provided, and there’s a parking space in front of the building. Tiessenkai is nearby, along with restaurants, harbor pubs and a bar, all with a view of the water. I really enjoy staying there.

We felt welcome and comfortable right from the start in the Captain holiday apartment. It’s a dream and has absolutely everything you could need. We’d love to come back, and highly recommend it.
