We paid more than 300 euro for one night, so I expected more. The room looked okay at first, but later felt like a basement cell, and its “view” was a car park. Noise from other rooms, people walking around and whatever else they were doing, kept me from sleeping after 05.30. The bathroom lotion smelled bad, and we had to fix the shower ourselves because hardly any water came out. Service was a disaster. Nobody was at reception for several minutes when we arrived, even after we rang the bell. Two hours later, no one could be found at the bar, so we went into town without a drink. When we came back at 22.00, four hours later, we waited at the bar, sat down, and still nobody came over. We went to our room without anything. The hotel was totally overpriced, and I can only hope the breakfast is okay. No Romantik here…….

The breakfast is spectacular and delicious, with so much attention to detail in both the food and its presentation. We made time to enjoy it properly on our second visit. On the first, we had to leave early and weren’t very hungry, though what we did eat was very good. Coffee is available decaf and with oat milk, and is okay. You can sometimes come just for breakfast, but call first to check they can fit you in. We’ve returned since our first stay and explored more of the hotel. The surrounding park is lovely for a walk. We also tried the sauna and pool, with a small fitness room next door. The spa isn’t huge, but suits the hotel well. Check that the sauna is on, as sometimes you need to call reception to ask them to switch it on. Our stays have been a pleasure. Check-in was quick and friendly, and our request for a quiet room was taken into account. We got a spacious, peaceful room on the second floor facing the parking lot. The large beds were comfortable, everything was spotless and well kept, and the air conditioning worked very well. The blinds block all the light, so you can sleep well even in midsummer. I’d gladly come back and enjoy the hotel’s hospitality again.

I’ve stayed in many hotels for work and pleasure, and this was the worst stay of my life. Some staff were exceptional, and the place itself was nice, but the hotel’s whole approach gave me a strong sense of desperation over cash flow. They asked me to pay upfront. A guarantee seemed normal, but paying for the stay in advance was new to me and immediately made me feel unwelcome. Their explanation, that they didn’t know me and had had bad experiences before, didn’t reassure me. Management dropped the demand when I refused, but summoned me to reception the next day while I was dressed in black and on my way to my mother’s funeral, with the taxi waiting. I wasn’t checking out and had planned to stay two more days. The timing showed a lack of respect, business sense, customer courtesy, and frankly good taste. I was so disgusted that I checked out then and there, on the day of the funeral. The hotel also says it only cleans rooms every second day. When I returned after the first day, the bed hadn’t been made and dirty coffee cups and glasses were still there. For a good hotel, never mind a romantic hotel, that’s not what I expect. They said many hotels do this now, and that the policy was marked on a tiny, half-peeled sticker on the bathroom mirror. It felt like managing costs mattered more than the guest experience. The whole thing left a bitter taste and ruined what should have been a calm, pleasant stay. I’ve now received a response that misrepresents me and treats my frustration with how I was handled as a personal attack on my character. It doesn’t address the room’s condition, says upfront payment is common practice, and tries to disrespect and belittle the guest instead of addressing the hotel’s shortcomings. Customers beware.

The breakfast was one of the best I’ve had, and the service was good. The park and neighborhood are nice, and it’s about 40 min on foot or 20 min by bus from the train station or harbor. We also had the sauna and pool area nearly to ourselves for almost an hour, despite being told the hotel was fully booked. During breakfast and our hour at the spa, we saw only a few people, so being told no other room was available seemed strange. We paid 169 EUR for one night in room 230 in Park wing, and the room was terrible for that price. It had no ventilation, the mattress was hard as concrete, and the bathroom was outdated. Every shower left a pool on the floor, and the water pressure was very low. The park-facing view wasn’t worth mentioning. The temperature dropped very low overnight even with the heating on, so I had to put on extra clothes and socks to stay warm. Renovation noise started sometime before 9 in the morning. Reception said no work was being done, which made me wonder whether we had hearing problems or the hotel had poor communication among staff and with customers. The 169 EUR nightly rate was ridiculously high for that room, and I won’t stay there again. Thanks for the reply, but those things aren’t okay. Our windows faced the park, not a street, with no construction or roads, just an owl sanctuary. If guests have problems with their room, a 4* hotel should find a solution instead of dismissing them.

We loved the breakfasts and dinners here, and the team were exceptionally friendly and accommodating. Our rooms were very clean. We had our 3-year-old grandson with us, and he loved the swimming pool. The place is beautifully situated, with lovely walks and woods around it and the waterfront only minutes away on foot. So glad we found it, and I wish we could come back. Thank you 🥰
