The staff really went out of their way to make us comfortable, and the restaurant food was fresh and delicious. Breakfast was a treat every morning too. We had such a relaxing stay in a beautiful atmosphere. Honestly, it felt like a dream, and I'd highly recommend the place.

We had to scramble for another hotel the night before check-in, after the hotel called to cancel our reservation. We were in town for a wedding nearby, so the short notice meant driving to and from it instead of being able to walk. The service was very poor. I wouldn't recommend booking here when you can't be sure they'll honor your reservation.

Martin Schlegels family-run hotel and restaurant has a lovely, welcoming feel, and the service was excellent. The wine list is outstanding, with plenty of Badische and German finds to try. In the garden, you get a spectacular mix of elegance and coziness, with a beautiful view in the Dreisamtal at the edge of the Black Forest. The food is excellent too, from Badische and Mediterranean cooking without flashy extras to the almost legendary Schnitzels and fries. He’s also known for fresh fish dishes. A memorable visit in a beautiful spot near Freiburg.

Looking out across the fields, this is a beautiful spot. On a hot summer evening, it’s just right for dinner.

The food and service were amazing, simply delicious. The photos say it all.
