Pension Gästehaus Oberscheven

The place itself was in very good shape, but my stay was a different story. I’d reserved a Deluxe Room with a balcony and ended up in a worker’s room with a shared bathroom and no balcony, with no discount offered. They called to tell me about the downgrade just an hour before I arrived. We’d agreed on a checkout time, but nobody showed up.

We enjoyed our second stay so much that I booked again just two weeks later. The provider was friendly and very accommodating about our special requests, and the accommodation was clean and well furnished enough to justify the price. The town surprised us too: we’d first taken it for a bigger, small town, but found it beautiful and peaceful. The online listings really need work. I’d booked in the first place only because everything nearby was taken at such short notice, and the listings didn’t look very appealing.

There’s a little wooded spot just around the corner, plus a path beside a small stream that’s nice for a stroll. Dogs are allowed, too. The guesthouse itself is small and really cozy, with spotless, practical rooms. Breakfast was lovingly put together, and the coffee was very good. I liked the whole place a lot. Highly recommended.

The room was really nice and clean, and the service was very friendly. A few little things could be sorted out: nobody knew the Wi-Fi password, there’s no house number for food deliveries, and a spare key would help. Apart from that, everything was perfect. I’ll book again.
