The staff were welcoming and really helpful, and breakfast was delicious, with fresh food and good coffee. My room was clean and cozy, with fresh towels, a hair dryer, and a desk and chair for evening work. The only issue was that it felt too cold in the middle of winter. I really enjoyed staying here and would definitely return to Maischeider Hof.

The dinner was the low point for me. There were only three main dishes on offer, and the menu was only in German. I chose the curry because it seemed like the safest bet, but it was literally the worst curry I’ve ever had. I’m not exaggerating. If you stay here, I’d take the car somewhere else for dinner. Even average food is worth the trip. The rooms are spacious and nicely decorated. Breakfast is average, though not bad for a small hotel in the middle of nowhere. If there are eggs left by the time you get there, they’re cooked perfectly. It’s hard to judge the staff since there’s nobody at reception in the morning or evening. In winter, though, someone may come into your room while you’re out and turn the heating off so it won’t be too warm when you get back.
