Hotel Rheinkrone

A quiet place that worked well for a good night’s sleep during work travel. The rooms are simple and clean, and there’s a nice restaurant. The location is especially good, with a fantastic Rhine view from the property. Nice spot for a beer, too.

Those breakfast bread rolls are hard to forget. They looked ordinary, but had a crisp crust and a warm, soft, airy inside. I found myself reaching for a second, then a third. The fresh, subtle flavor made them the star of a breakfast that also had fresh fruit, cold cuts and hot dishes. We spent one night at Hotel RheinKrone, where the welcoming staff checked us in promptly. Our room was spotless and tastefully decorated, with a comfortable bed, soft pillows and a cozy feel that made it easy to sleep well. The stay was a lovely surprise, with comfortable accommodations and attentive service. Hotel RheinKrone is a hidden gem, and I’d book again if I were in the area. Don’t miss the bread rolls!

We were two Dutch friends staying here after flying in for a layover. We’d had a nice time in the city and drinks in the historic centre, but the hotel stay felt awkward and unwelcoming. No checkout time had been mentioned, yet at 9:00 am the hotel guy knocked and asked when we’d be leaving. The cleaning lady gave us a death stare as we left the room. There were no other bookings, but we’d been given the room with the worst city view. At checkout the hotel guy was grumpy and sat leering at us without getting up to say goodbye. We had to wait outside in the rain for our taxi. It’s hard to explain a lack of hospitality, but we don’t want to come back.

The view over Koblenz was amazing, and the place was clean and beautiful. The proprietor was friendly, as was everyone else. I’ll definitely stay here again.
