Haus Schaffler

The children were especially taken with the loft sleeping area, the garden play space, and helping out in the stable. We loved the balcony overlooking the mountains, the light wood furnishings, and the new bathroom. "De Hintere" was spotless and well equipped, and the host family made us feel so welcome. It's peaceful but still central. The homemade bread and cheese were excellent, and we wholeheartedly recommend it for a family stay.

There are plenty of varied, manageable hiking routes close to the apartment, which makes the area great for families. After a hike, we could cool off in Lake Kochel. Our apartment had everything we needed and was clean, and despite the central location it was quiet. The hosts were very friendly. We had a great week and would love to return.

The bus links and location were great, and we had a wonderful week of hikes, clear turquoise water at Lake Walchensee, and a host family that made us feel completely at home. The Mayr family welcomed us warmly on Monday and shared shopping and hiking tips, welcome drinks, a loaf of homemade bread, and delicious garlic cheese. Our apartment was spotless, even on the farm. It had a well equipped kitchen and dining area, a sofa and TV lounge, two bright bedrooms with very comfortable beds and small, old fashioned but functional washbasins, a balcony, and a bathroom. Each room could be locked separately if we wanted. We wished we could have stayed longer.

From the balcony there was a fantastic view across the valley and mountains, and the apartment itself was quiet, clean, and very well equipped. The hosts were warm and easygoing. We'd definitely book the back apartment again.
