Breakfast was really nice, and the staff were lovely. It’s a quaint old hotel tucked into a very quiet bit of forest just outside town, and great value too.

Dinner by the fireplace was a real treat, and the calm atmosphere made it even better. The forest setting is beautiful and so quiet. We also loved breakfast, which had everything we could want. After seven years, we finally got a room again, though it’s always fully booked. We felt comfortable and safe as soon as we arrived, and got a very warm welcome. The rooms are still simple and functional, just as they were seven years ago. Everything was fresh and spotless. Sure, the bathroom silicone doesn’t get replaced every month, but who cares?! 😍❤️🤤 We’ll recommend this #Waldhotel Achtermannstor to everyone we know, 5*+! The only downside was that they only accepted cash.

We spent New Year’s Eve here with our two dogs, and would happily come back. The dogs were completely welcome, and there are ideal hiking trails nearby. The evening meal was absolutely delicious, good home-style cooking with a modern touch. Many thanks to the chef and his mother. Best wishes to Siggi, who made for a very entertaining evening. The welcome was lovely, highly recommended.

The location is fantastic for hiking, and we felt at home right away thanks to the welcoming staff. Breakfast was delicious, and the rooms were clean and spacious. We’ll definitely be back. Thanks so much :)
