There was no warning before we arrived that the hotel was being renovated, and I don't think they should have taken reservations during that work. We had no hot water or breakfast, the TV didn't work, and its remote was held together with bandages. Getting in meant using a temporary entrance onto a sketchy back lane. This place might be good in a perfect world, but our stay was a mess.

The hotel doesn't tell you about the renovation until cancelling is no longer an option. The whole ground and first floors have been gutted, with debris everywhere, and the stairs and floors looked as though they hadn't been cleaned for weeks, maybe months. The main entrance is closed, and the side door is obstructed by construction vehicles, with rubbish, debris, dog feces and cigarette butts around it. Construction noise goes from 7 am until 4 or 5 pm, so sleeping in isn't possible. There's no breakfast, and guests can only use rooms on the upper floors. The elevator is reserved for construction workers. There's major work inside and outside the hotel. Do NOT stay here for the foreseeable future. Very sneaky of them to keep quiet about all this until after the cancellation point.

Breakfast felt a little too basic to me, but the stay was good and I'd come back. We had a cozy room for four, with a view of the lake, at this little hotel in a great location.

The buffet breakfast had a decent range, including vegetarian and gluten-free choices, though the machine coffee was watery. Our room had a little kitchen with a sink and stovetop, which we didn't try, and Rollladen on the windows to keep out the light. They also have an elevator and beds for babies or toddlers. Service in the breakfast room and at reception was very friendly. The hotel is right across from the train station, which is a great spot, but outside noise at night bothered us. The beds weren't the most comfortable either.
