The only real downside was having no cell service at all. I couldn’t call or check email until I’d left and driven toward the next town. If you want to be completely out of touch, though, it’s perfect! The location is lovely, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The menu has game, fish, vegan and kid choices. I tried the asparagus dish with walleye, and it was delicious, and don’t skip the appetizers. The breakfast buffet was well stocked and never ran out, a good start for exploring the area. The spa, sauna and pool are worth checking out too.

A cozy, unique mix of modern and Renaissance style. The spa is excellent, and the beach is nearby, 2-3 km through the woods and along the lakes.

We came for dinner and loved everything we tried, appetizers, entree, sides and dessert. The Schoko Duo is definitely worth trying! The staff were friendly, there was a play room for children, and the area around the restaurant is peaceful and beautiful.

We spent 352€ for a weekend, and had picked this hotel specifically for the pool and sauna, especially in case of rain. When we arrived Friday, we tried to go to the pool at 20h30, but were told it was already booked by 10 people and that, because of Corona, no more could fit. They said we could book a 2 hour slot for Saturday if we wanted to use the pool or sauna. This should have been made clear before we spent 352€, but nothing about it was mentioned on the booking page. When I asked at reception, the response was basically that it was Corona time and we’d get a slot Saturday. We understand the need to be careful, but if we’d known, we would have chosen another hotel without a sauna and pool instead of paying 352€ just to sleep there and get 2 hours at the pool. The receptionist could have apologized for the inconvenience and said they’d improve the information on the website, since this might affect our holiday. That would have been a professional response. As it was, it felt very unprofessional.
