B&B HOTEL Krefeld-Süd

I’ve been staying here regularly for about five years, and until this visit I’d always had a good experience. This time I left disappointed. I don’t know whether the recent change of ownership or name had anything to do with it, but things felt noticeably different. Check-in itself went smoothly. The first issue was that there was no toilet paper in the room, either on the holder or anywhere as a spare. Reception said they couldn’t get into the cleaning supply rooms because only the cleaning staff had keys. They said someone would bring it the next day, which didn’t help much since we were there for just one night. We were a group of nine, and at least three other rooms had the same problem. The bed was uncomfortable too. Its legs had wheels, so even a small movement made the whole thing roll away, and the mattress wasn’t comfortable either. Breakfast was also a letdown compared with previous years and what I’d normally expect. Boiled eggs were the only hot food, so the selection felt pretty poor. Meanwhile, the price hasn’t gone down since last year; it’s actually gone up. After this stay I can’t recommend the hotel in good conscience. Next time we’ll most likely stay at the Holiday Inn on the other side of the industrial park.
