We had a great stay, and the hosts made us feel so welcome. The apartment had everything we needed for us and our three kids. With hiking trails right on the doorstep and such a fantastic location, it was a lovely place to stay.

A great base for hiking, with trails close by. Mittenwald is only an 8-minute drive away, and lots of alpine landmarks are easy to visit from here. The apartment was spotless, peaceful, had amazing views, and the hosts were lovely. Great value too.

We managed to book at the last minute and had a great stay. The landlady was super friendly, and phone and WhatsApp communication were excellent. There was even a little surprise for Christmas and New Year's. One insider tip: the New Year's Eve fireworks at Elmau Castle are just an 8-minute drive away. Our apartment was for two, with one bedroom, a double bed, and three fairly comfortable single sofa beds in the living room. Apartments with two bedrooms are also available, with four beds plus extra sleeping options in the living room. There was private parking right outside, and the apartment was clean and communication was easy. The location was wonderfully quiet. For skiing, Garmisch Classic is 25 minutes away, and the even better-groomed Ehrwald ski area is an easy 40-minute drive.

Klais is a tiny village, and sadly there aren't any restaurants or shops there. Still, the apartment is highly recommended: it's large, very clean, and has everything you need, plus a magnificent view. The hosts are very friendly, and the Karwendel region is wonderful for winter hikes with a dog.
