The staff were extremely warm, and dog-friendly Alfie had no trouble getting around. Auchterum feels and looks like a different class from the few hotels I've stayed in. It's a great stopover without too much driving. The blinds and shutters were fun to figure out, as was opening the window. The restaurant is only open Wednesday to Saturday, and there's a fine selection of whisky and liqueurs. There's so much to see nearby that you'd need a few days.

Even in June 2023, breakfast was still in Covid mode, with paper orders instead of an open buffet. One item of food was old and moldy, and the staff didn't do much when I pointed it out.

The room was nicely furnished, the staff very friendly, and breakfast delicious. The mattresses felt a little too firm for us, though that's just personal preference.

The rooms were clean, lovely, and beautifully decorated. It's a very nice hotel with stylish furnishings, friendly staff, and a great breakfast buffet.

I always look forward to staying here. You feel at home, and the staff are warm without being pushy. They're professional, always well dressed, and the cleaning staff are both good and considerate. The rooms are spacious and very well furnished, with plenty of parking for electric and combustion engine vehicles. Bicycles can be charged too. There's a superb chef, and while the food is on the pricey side, the service is excellent. Have a wonderful time and enjoy your stay!
