The quiet was lovely, even with other dogs and families with children around. We especially enjoyed the big garden behind the manor house, with its beach chairs and the neighbor's chickens pecking along the fence. Staying there with our dogs in fall 2025 was a real treat. The apartment was just right, tastefully furnished and with a well-equipped kitchen, including a freezer, oven, stove, and microwave. The friendly manager and landlord made us feel welcome and shared useful tips for outings, places to eat, and parking. We also loved the setting: we took the dogs to several beaches on the island of Poel, and visited Wismar, Lübeck, and Schwerin. It was a great mix of nature and culture.

We stayed in September 2024 and are already planning to return in 2025. The manor house has been renovated beautifully, and the apartment had everything we needed. The setting is so peaceful, and it seems especially well suited to cycling.

The beach is reached by walking toward the coastal road for about 25 minutes, then turning right and crossing left at one of the many roadside posts to pick up the footpath. A bicycle is handy, and parking is included. We stayed in the ground-floor Hasengrube apartment and had a wonderful holiday. The manor house has been renovated nicely and divided into several apartments. You can book on the property's website without fees or use the usual portals such as Airbnb. There are often families with dogs staying, and the neighbors have chickens plus a very keen rooster. In strong winds, the shutters rattle.

A lovely place for a restful Baltic Sea break, with a large garden and beach chairs. It's well placed near the island of Poel and Wismar.
