Dünenschloss by Upstalsboom

Our stay was affected by the sauna being closed after a breakdown. We chose this place in winter partly because of the sauna, but the booking website didn’t mention the closure. We also got no reply to our complaint, and the review was edited for personal gain. That left us disappointed and took away from what had otherwise been a positive impression of the complex. The complex is very nice, and apartment 4-08 was well furnished and practical. The beach is just across the road.

Having our dog with us was a real plus, and when the weather turned a bit poor, we could use the swimming pool on the premises. We stayed in apartment 1-18 (Christ holiday apartment) in the Dünenschloss complex. It’s a very nice place, centrally located yet quiet, right next to the beach. We highly recommend it.

We really liked the ground-floor apartment 1/05. With its terrace and private entrance, it worked especially well for us as vacationers with dogs. The complex is well maintained, and you’re only a few minutes from both the beach and the dog beach. There’s an in-house bakery for breakfast rolls, with shops nearby too. The facilities cover just about everything: a pool, fitness room, sauna, bicycle parking, cellar, and parking spaces. Great! We’d love to come back.

Apartment 2-11 is very nice, and the complex is lovely. It’s a fantastic spot for dogs: cross the street and you’re at the beach, while the city forest is right behind you. The bicycle storage room is the main drawback. Getting down to the basement means using a path that’s steep and very slippery, and it really needs improvement.
