Morada Hotel Arendsee

The staff were polite and tried to answer our questions, though the reception was often unattended and we were repeatedly told that management had decided things that way. We couldn't find a hotel information folder in the room, and when we asked about practical details, like sauna hours, we were told to ask the staff. We slept well in our small third-floor room. It looked recently renovated, had good furnishings and enough light, but it was set up as a family room, with a connecting door that was locked but did little to block conversations. The bathroom was also newly renovated and its fixtures worked well, though it had no towel hooks. The bars were awkwardly placed, either too high over the toilet or too low above the open toilet brush. The heating never worked properly. The radiator was warm at the top and mostly cold below. We complained twice, but nothing changed and nobody followed up. The buffets were uneven, which is partly a matter of taste, but there was no cold buffet during the first few days unless dry bread, lard, or butter counted. We'd hoped to treat ourselves to our first Christmas at a family-run hotel in 2025. The hotel was beautifully decorated, but the stay didn't work out, and we won't book here again.

The reception staff were very friendly and helpful, which was a bright spot. The food was mediocre, though, and we ate it because we were hungry. My husband and I had planned this as a birthday weekend break and were looking forward to it. The room was okay, but the heating made an annoying noise and never got properly warm. There was no heat in the bathroom, so the towels couldn't dry. In winter, that was completely unacceptable.

We stayed from December 2nd to 5th, 2025, and were very satisfied. Breakfast was generous and delicious, and the half-board left nothing to be desired. The hotel is lovely and clean, with friendly staff who were always available. Our room on the side of the building was spacious, with a modern bathroom. The entrance area is new and adjoins the restaurant. The sauna area is also new and very nice, though some sections cost €12 per person. Parking behind the hotel is available for €10 a night.
