Upstalsboom Kühlungsborn

The spa was the highlight for us: a lovely pool, a couple of saunas, a steam room, plenty of comfortable spots to relax, and a health bar with complimentary fruit, tea, and infused water. The hotel is right on the beach and in the middle of Kühlungsborn, so you can get everywhere on foot. It completely won us over as a place to rest and unwind, and we'll be back in the Autumn. The staff in reception, the bar and restaurant, the spa, and housekeeping were all professional, friendly, and helpful throughout our stay. The rooms are modern, clean, and really comfortable. We were lucky to get one looking directly out onto the beach. The tablet with internet access was a nice touch, and the bed and pillows made for a great night's sleep. Breakfast is served as a buffet until 13:00, so there's no need to get up early. This hotel easily deserves five stars, and I'd give it more if I could. Thanks for everything!

The room was impeccable, and the food was excellent. The people working here were attentive and a pleasure to deal with. It's right on the Baltic Sea in the charming town of Kuhlungsborn, in a very central spot. I can't think of anything they need to improve.

The buffet was quite good, and breakfast runs until 1pm, which is great. The hotel is in an unbeatable location. The lobby and my room were really beautiful, and most of the staff were kind. At reception, though, they seemed annoyed at times. Breakfast got hectic during peak periods, and the soya latte I was served for 4,80€(!) was awful. I think they made it too hot, because it had strange “soya flakes” in it. I've attached a picture to show what I mean. I didn't feel bold enough to mention it to the waitress, since she was already stressed and I didn't want to add to what she was dealing with. I can only give three stars because they started sending me a newsletter I never asked for.

The location was wonderful, and the service was excellent. Everyone was friendly and cooperative. A great experience overall.
