Villa Löwenstein - Wohnung 8 / 9847

Villa Löwenstein is in a perfect spot, just across the street from the beach. Apartment 1, where we stayed at the beginning of May, had furnishings that were perfectly adequate, but the rooms felt dark and unwelcoming. We’d expected a ground-floor apartment, but it was actually in the basement, and we had to switch on the lights even on sunny days. We wouldn’t book that apartment again.

The beachside location is fantastic, and the IT company fixed the Wi-Fi right after we called. We’ve stayed at Villa Löwenstein twice, in June 2020 and July 2025, but this year’s cleanliness was shocking. On arrival Sunday, there was still toilet paper from the previous guest in the bathroom, and both the balcony and stairwell were very dirty. We cleaned the bathroom ourselves and told the rental company about the problem on Monday. They said the property management handled the balcony and stairwell, and offered to send a cleaner for the bathroom, which we didn’t need after cleaning it ourselves. Because of the poor cleanliness and the lack of responsibility for complaints, we can’t recommend the house anymore. The rental price is significant, after all.

We liked the location, but we won’t return. At that price, we don’t want to give up a good night’s sleep, even if it means walking a few extra meters to the beach. We stayed in August 2024 and had expected more from an expensive apartment so close to the beach. It looks stylish, almost elegant, but doesn’t work well in practice. The balcony was very dirty, with old pollen and leaves that clearly hadn’t been cleaned for a long time, and the clothes drying rack was so sticky we couldn’t hang laundry on it. There were no fly screens either. The sleeping arrangements weren’t comfortable. The bedroom and bathroom doors are frosted glass sliders with no locks or airtight seal, so noise carries through. We could even hear the coffee machine from the bedroom. The frosted glass also lets in enough light to brighten the whole apartment at night when someone uses the bathroom. And the living room curtains don’t darken the room, which is a problem if you need it dark, especially in summer.

Apartment 7 has luxurious, high-quality furnishings and everything we could want. The villa has several apartments and sits right by the beach. Highly recommended!
