Good Hostel

I’ve used this place a couple of times while traveling across Europe in summer, just for a shower and a night’s sleep. It’s promising and good in general, though there’s room for improvement. The rooms get hot, and the windows have no protection. The bathrooms need a detailed, deep clean.

I’ve stayed here twice, and both visits were brilliant. It’s quiet and feels safe, the rooms are clean, and the value is great. The kitchen has everything needed for cooking, and a shopping center is nearby. Check-in was a bit fiddly this time, but we did get our room in the end. A fabulous place for a one or two night stopover.

The black mold is clearly visible in all the rooms, though some have more than others. If you have asthma, I’d avoid this place. I slept one night in 205 and woke up sore with a scratchy feeling in my throat. Apart from the mold, the room was quite comfortable. The kitchen had good amenities and no mold, and the bathrooms were clean. The ladies’ shower on the ground floor had a lock, but neither my female friend nor I were given the code. The first-floor shower was very comfortable, with hot water. WiFi worked fine, the view was good, and the radiators in the wooden box behind the bed worked wonderfully. We had a check-in problem because, even though we’d paid two weeks ahead, the service we booked through hadn’t paid the hostel yet. A quick call with a kind lady sorted it out.

It was good, though the check-in process can feel a bit scary if it’s your first time.
