PROHotel Laatzen-Hannover

It’s just a short walk to the Center and the restaurants, and the station is right next door, which is handy if you want to Explore the city. The hotel gave us more than we paid for, with a Super breakfast, clean rooms, and staff who cared about their service. The rooms are good, but bring your own pillows if you can. The ones here feel like sleeping on a balloon.

We only stayed one night. The rooms were clean, and breakfast was nice. There’s no fridge or A/C, but toward the end of July we were comfortable enough with the windows open at night. Parking in the garage is available for 8€/day. Since we had a car, the location suited us. If you don’t, the U-Bahn, tram, and train are all very close for getting to the city center. Kaufland, a very big supermarket, and Decathlon are within walking distance, along with Rossman and a good range of cafes and restaurants.

We paid 600 Eur a night, and the location is very close to the messe area. But the service was basically nonexistent: no WIFI, no cleaning, and if you run out of toilet paper, you have to bring it to your room yourself. Towel exchanges are only at the lobby. They remembered my face when it came to the payment, during the two out of five days when half payment was due, but not for my birthday. Remembering the payment could have meant paying attention to the rest too. There were no towels brought to the room as supposedly promised, and no toilet paper refill. There are earplugs in the room so you don’t hear the neighbour conversation.

The rooms are very small, and the bathroom is tiny. Breakfast was okay, though the room was packed with people. It’s a basic central hotel near the exhibition and ZAG Arena, which is a 25-minute walk away. Fine for a one-night stay.
