The location in Laboe is a real plus, but the apartment was far too expensive for how little comfort it offered. The living room was okay, though the sofa was very worn, and its heater couldn't be switched off, leaving the room unbearably hot. The sleeping area is upstairs, reached by a very narrow staircase that could be difficult for anyone with poor eyesight or a fear of heights. Having the bathroom downstairs made that layout even less convenient. Such a shame in a place like Laboe, which is well worth visiting.

We were able to get a table spontaneously on New Year's Eve, and they let us bring our dog into the restaurant. The service there was excellent, and the beach was less than a minute away on foot. The stay itself was okay, but there were plenty of downsides. Communication with the landlord was poor, and we had to collect the key from the restaurant “across the street” on the beach side. The booking hadn't mentioned the €5 daily parking charge, which we had to pay straight away. Room 20 looked tidy at first, but wasn't as clean as it could have been. The toilet and flush were old, the shower had limescale, and the water heater couldn't provide enough hot water for two people to shower. The bed was worn, the dishes were dirty, and the kettle was scaled up. The sea view also fell short of what we expected. Poor value for money.

The location and the view were great, but that was about all we liked. This apartment building felt completely impersonal. The flat looked nice on the surface, yet the bathroom drain was broken and the sink couldn't be used. The local service and hotline couldn't sort it out, and we were left waiting while on holiday, hoping to relax, not camping. Cleaning was superficial too: dirty cutlery, dust on everything above shoulder height. Extra charges for sheets and towels were buried somewhere in the many emails, rather than made clear when we booked. We arrived late on the first day and had none of them in the apartment, then had to pay another €112 on day two. Whenever we raised a problem, the response was that they weren't responsible, only took the report, and would pass it to the cleaning crew or landlord. Nothing ended up happening. Anonymous, impersonal, over-commercialized, and badly run.
