The room was already ready when we got there around 5 p.m. It was a roomy double with a terrace, and the sheets and room were clean. The bathroom could have been cleaner, but it wasn’t a mess. The receptionist was friendly, as was the man serving breakfast, and there was a good breakfast selection. It’s about 300 m from the main church, right by the Isar. I booked for the reasonable rate and only needed a night, so it was a solid three stars all told.

For what we paid, the value was great. The rooms were clean and had a fresh new look, though the bathrooms still feel old. The drains were slow and the plumbing temperamental. The front desk staff were friendly, but arguing in front of customers came off as unprofessional. I did appreciate how patiently and professionally the male staff members tried to handle it.

I’m grateful to the hotel bartender, who was the only staff member who tried to help me. I’d paid €80 for the night and had told the property in advance I’d arrive after 10 p.m., but the reception was completely unmanned. A guest and the bartender helped me find somewhere to sleep, which turned out to be the sauna. I’m not joking. I later learned that two other guests had to sleep in the lobby and someone else found their room already occupied. The place was completely disorganized and should be avoided. Highly discouraged.

We finally got a room nearly three hours after arriving, but it was a double even though we’d booked a room for three. We were told an extra bed would be added later, and when we came back late that night from the speedway event, all that was there was a thin mattress on the floor. The family room listing had promised a double bed and a sofa bed. You can see in the attached photo what this hotel calls an “extra bed.” I’d booked through booking.com in January for the Grand Prix weekend in Landshut, and even got a reservation reminder on May 2, the day before we arrived. On May 3, I found out the booking had been cancelled. I needed a translator app to understand that, since nobody at reception spoke English. After an hour in line with other angry guests, the manager gave a “system issue” and “double bookings from April” as the reason. I pointed out that I’d booked in January, and only then did he say he’d try to find us a room. His behavior was disgraceful and unprofessional. He even threatened to go home and leave everyone without help if guests didn’t calm down and wait patiently. Another hour and several Google Translate conversations later, we finally had a room. A receptionist later told us in English that this was “normal in this hotel” and they’d just add a bed. We didn’t have time to argue and left after being assured it would be handled. This disorganization, the staff’s behavior, and lack of responsibility ruined what should have been a fun family trip. The dishonesty was awful. Avoid this place at all costs. One star is too generous.

The doors were broken when we got there, and we couldn’t open them until the receptionist came to help. The room was filthy, full of food and mess. We went to the city center for two hours, and when we got back the balcony was dirty and the room still barely cleaned. Total madness. Never stay here. Horrible.
