The service did a good job, especially when we raised an issue with the meat. It came out overcooked at first, but they dealt with our feedback straight away and brought a fresh plate that was quite good. The staff were attentive and helpful, though they could have been a little friendlier. For service, I’d give it 4.5 out of 5, and the team deserves credit for handling criticism well. Food was more like 3 out of 5 for the price. The main courses were competent and generally solid, but nothing special. The fried potatoes were soft and greasy, as if boiled in oil, with none of the crispness they should have had. The side salad looked carelessly assembled, and dessert was just as uninspired, so it wasn’t a satisfying finish. We were there on a busy Saturday, but the kitchen still felt lacking in creativity. People with modest expectations may be happy enough, while anyone looking for standout quality or inventive cooking may come away disappointed.

After waiting well over an hour, our food finally arrived, and none of it impressed us. The chicken was dry, the beef bland, and the fried potatoes weren't appealing either. We skipped dessert after seeing other tables wait as long as 45 minutes for theirs. We won't be back.

We found a table for nine at short notice, just before Christmas, and they even let us bring our dog. The restaurant was full and we all chose different dishes, so things took a little while. Still, every plate was absolutely delicious and all nine of us were happy. The service was excellent too. We'd gladly return anytime.

We came for a meal yesterday, not an overnight stay, so I can't say anything about the rooms. The restaurant is in a very stylishly restored and maintained station from the district railway era. The food and service were good, and there was plenty of parking nearby. A great recommendation in Angeln, and easy to reach from Flensburg.
