Golden Rangau Hotel & Pension

Cool place.

Absolutely awful! We're staying here because it's close to our relatives, but I've never had to spend time in such a filthy room, especially at €75 a night without breakfast. The bad smell is there as soon as you walk in. The walls badly need painting, and the so-called curtains are dirty. I spotted several hairs on the bed straight away and didn't even want to lie down. The bathroom was just as bad. The toilet still had traces left by previous guests, and the towels were dirty too. What kind of place have we ended up in? There isn't an option for zero stars. We're hoteliers ourselves and take great care to make our guests comfortable and rent out rooms that are clean and attractive. I'd be utterly ashamed to let rooms like this. It's an outrageous disgrace.

I stayed there for a while. It was horrible, the price was high and the rooms were awful. Rats were climbing the walls and howling with hunger, and I felt so sorry for them that I shared my leftover pasta loaf! Just kidding, it was horrible! It wasn't worth it at all. They say people live in a funeral home there, but the only dead ones I found were rats hanging from the chandeliers, as if to show how hungry they were!

Never again! At Rangau Langenzen, with the new owner, the staff are completely incapable of taking food or drink orders. They forget where a dish is meant to go, and you don't get a bill, just everything written on a beer coaster. The food takes ages. After more than 45 minutes, the salad looked as if someone had already eaten it. There's no drinks menu. Ask for one and they say they don't have it. A schnitzel with fries costs €8.50, but it's only hand-sized, so order two! And asking for a drinks menu with prices is out of the question. Absolutely not!
