The only snag for me was booking.com. Beyond that, this could be a great base for a few days exploring a really beautiful part of Germany. The hosts are lovely and genuinely helpful, and the setting feels like Germany at its most beautiful. If you want to see the best of the country, this is a lovely place to stay.

We keep coming back to Träumerei, and it’s always a pleasure. The hosts are so friendly, breakfast is generous, and check-in and check-out are easy. Our room request is always accommodated 🥰. It’s a charming little place, with spacious rooms, thoughtful details, and a small shared kitchen.

Breakfast was good, and it was served in the half-timbered house. The online photos made it seem as if guests stayed there, but the rooms are actually in a separate building behind it. The much harder part of the stay was the strong perfume-like smell throughout the house and in the room, possibly from fabric softener. It was overpowering and persistent, and airing the room for hours didn’t help.

The management were incredibly friendly, and everything was straightforward. Breakfast was lovely and carefully prepared. The hotel is right by the castle and park, central but still quiet. Perfect!
