The restaurant dishes and breakfast are very good, and the hotel is in a pretty town that's nice to walk around. It has a lift, which is rare in hotels in German suburbs. The train station is right behind the hotel, making it easy to get to Nuremberg. There's also a grocery store about a 10-minute walk away that stays open until 8 PM. A convenient location.
After a long drive, it was great to take a stroll through the lovely old town of Lauf and along the Pegnitz River, just a two-minute walk away. The Rathaus has an 'Urig' restaurant serving authentic Franken cuisine, and its lovely owner, a lady in her late 70s, still looks after her guests. What a lovely experience. This is also a perfect stop when travelling from Northern Europe towards Bavaria, Austria, Croatia, or Italy. It's just two minutes from the Autobahn, with a nearby petrol station where filling up costs 30€ less than at the Autobahn station. The rooms are nice and clean, parking is convenient and safe, and breakfast is wonderful. Everything is served at your table, including homemade jams and freshly cooked eggs. The staff are friendly and efficient.
The restaurant is closed on Mondays, so keep that in mind. Otherwise, it was a lovely experience: the staff were kind and helpful, and spoke English. The hotel is in the suburbs of Nuernberg, with simple but very clean rooms and a lovely restaurant serving good-quality typical German food.
The rooms are clean, the staff are very, very nice, and the restaurant food is great. It's always a pleasure to stay here.
