Rebstock

The food was tip-top, and there's a great view of the river. Such friendly staff. Yum!

Dinner was the highlight for us. We had a breathtaking river view from the restaurant, and the food was probably the best we've ever had on a night out. Breakfast was excellent too, with local artisan breads, tasty cheeses, and good charcuterie. The hotel itself is a beautiful old place along the Rhine, and everyone made us feel welcome. Some staff speak excellent English; those who don't were patient with our high-school German and Google Translate. We loved our stay at Rebstock and would gladly return. We were on the 4th floor, where it can get quite warm. There's no lift, though the nearest staff member offered to carry our luggage on the stairs. If you're used to air conditioning, you might want a small electric fan, or to buy one for about 20 Euros at the local Medimax, or choose a lower-floor room. Our room was warm, but the view of the river made our time in Laufenburg incredible.

We had a nice time here. The restaurant terrace has an amazing view, the service is very good, and the dessert was something special. My ratings: food 4/5, service 4+/5, atmosphere 4+/5, and food and drink prices 4/5. A friendly place, with a good overall experience.

There were six of us at lunch, and most of us picked the day's menu: veal with vegetables and potato croquettes. It was delicious and very reasonably priced. We ate outside on the terrace, looking over the Rhine and the two old cities of Lauffenburg, Swiss and German, on either bank. Highly recommend.
