We got a quick introduction to the apartment’s history and special features when the key was handed over, and the handover itself went perfectly. The old-town location is handy, with a parking spot behind a lockable entrance. You can walk into Leer’s center easily; we only needed the car to shop at the nearby multi-market. We spent three very pleasant days here. There’s plenty of room for four, with two bedrooms, a living room, dining room, kitchen, bathroom and toilet. It’s functionally furnished, and the kitchen has everything needed for cooking. There’s also Wi-Fi with enough bandwidth, plus a TV with Netflix and Disney+. Highly recommended!

The building is old, and you can hear the floors creak. It sits on a busy street with traffic all the time, so the ground-floor windows can’t really be opened. The green space is only accessible to those staying downstairs, while the second-floor apartment has a veranda. There are two apartments for rent in the building and a shared washer and dryer. Upstairs, there are two beds, plus a sofa bed in the third room, which you have to walk through and which isn’t comfortable for sleeping. The kitchen is small and gets plenty of sun, but has no blinds.
