Gasthaus zum Baron

The owners are incredibly kind and clearly put a lot of passion into the business. They’re always there for their customers. When we stayed, the guest rooms were being renovated. They’re spacious, nice, and pleasantly quiet. It’s a charming little pub, and we’re already looking forward to visiting again. I can highly recommend it.

I was really disappointed and won't go back. We came as a large group, as arranged in advance, and they knew how many of us there would be and what we wanted to eat. Still, the tables weren't set for the right number of people, and nothing had been put out. The room felt bare and uncomfortable. We waited nearly two hours for the food, and the portions were on the small side. I wasn't keen on the schnitzel either. The staff seemed friendly, but overwhelmed. 👎

We love dropping in for a beer, and we even held our wedding celebration at the inn. The owners are friendly, kind, and capable, and they organized a wonderful event where everything went perfectly. The food was fantastic and the service was top-notch. Thanks again! We have only good things to say about this place. The prices are great for what you get, and whether you want a relaxed drink or a full event, everything feels right.

We felt very comfortable and would gladly return if we're in the area. The owners welcomed us warmly, and after dinner at a nearby restaurant, we stopped by for a nightcap and a nice chat. You can also eat at the Baron. They even gave us flyers for other outings. We had been looking spontaneously for a hotel near Leichlingen and picked this one because its name caught our eye. Parking was a big plus, and the owners found us a room within 15 minutes. It had been renovated and had everything we needed for the night, including a modern large box-spring bed and a modern bathroom with a shower. A special mention for the town of Hitzfelden, too. There’s a real sense of community, and people seem to care about the town and keep many things in good shape. We’d happily recommend the hotel.
