The employees were lovely and helpful, and there's a nice little biergarten/cafe downstairs. The hostel itself was very clean and the rooms were great. It's just a couple of minutes from the S-Bahn. Highly recommend it for a stay in Leipzig.

We were desperate to find somewhere to stay at half past ten at night when we came across this little hostel. The prices were great, the staff super nice, and it was clean and well equipped. Our room smelled a little like scented candles, though I think that was just part of the hostel's atmosphere.

Homeplanet gave me a real sense of what Leipzig is about: friendly people and a neighborhood that's quite punk, revolutionary, and welcoming. The look may or may not suit everyone, though. If you want the “centrum” experience, with all the commodities and noise, you might prefer somewhere else. It's one of the best hostels in the city, with a good price and excellent staff. I loved it and recommend the experience with all my heart. For me it's 5/5, but I gave 4 because I know some people prefer being in the city center and its particular atmosphere ^^

A natural, friendly feel, and a kitchen with everything you need, plus free coffee and chocolare drink. The lockers are big, safe, easy to use, and come with free locks. I also liked not having cameras in your face. It's smoker friendly, with tables and ashtrays on every floor in the staircase. People, I highly recommend a visit to home planet. This kind of quality hostel service is rare and unique.
