Hotel Leipzig City Nord by Campanile

Good value for the money. It's an old hotel, the rooms are decent, and breakfast is good.

We stayed for two nights and really liked the place. The rooms were clean, modern, and well furnished, the service was good, and the food was awesome. It's about 2.9 km from Leipzig Bahnhof, though there's a tram. I'd definitely recommend it for a few days in Leipzig.

The building is nice, though the interior could do with a new carpet. At 68€, the small room was okay, but it's listed as standard and looked much smaller than the photos suggested. The location by the S-Bahn is good. There is parking, but when we called, they left out key details, including that you have to go into the hotel before parking. That's tricky on busy city streets, and we ended up paying almost double. We also used a gift card issued by the hotel, but the staff weren't trained to process it, and it took several emails to sort out. Acceptable for the price.

The clean sheets and friendly staff were the only real positives. We paid €110 a night after booking well in advance, and the tiny room was next to a noisy passage. Both nights we couldn't get a good night's rest. We were woken by noise there at 1am each morning, near the Dominos pizza, and when it wasn't the noise, the room was unbearably hot even though it was cool outside. Our coffee cups were still dirty, and coffee was provided with the room on only one day, with no refill. Really disappointing for the price.
