Kokon Apartments

Apt.5 was super quiet, super clean, and had a great location and view. The furniture and decor were super too, everything felt just right.

We arrived for check-in at 6 p.m. and found that the entire apartment had no electricity. All the fuses were in, but the basement access was locked. The rental company said they’d “take care of it right away,” but nothing changed by 8:30 p.m. After several more calls, we finally heard around 9 p.m. that they couldn’t do anything that day, maybe tomorrow. They had no other apartment for us. They later messaged us on WhatsApp to say we could leave and get a refund for the remaining days. But it was already late, our child was asleep, and finding somewhere else to stay at 9:30 p.m. wasn’t an option. The next morning, they still couldn’t say when the problem would be fixed, so we moved out and found a place ourselves. Despite several promises, we still haven’t received a refund. Booking.com has contacted us, but the rental company is refusing to pay. A complete disappointment: no electricity, no solution, no refund, and a lot of hassle and extra costs. Not recommended.

We stayed in apartment 6, which had plenty of room for four, with a separate bedroom and double bed, plus a sofa bed for 2 children. The kitchen was well equipped and even had a high chair for a toddler, though one more chair would be needed for four people^^ The windows kept out street noise well, everything seemed newly renovated, and there was an elevator. Internet was fast and good. With its south-facing side, it’s probably quite warm in summer. The key hunt felt a bit like an escape game, but in the end everything worked out fine, even at 23:00. The apartment is right on the Ring, with a view of the Blechbüchse. Compared with Felixsuiten or other apartments, you get a lot more for your money. There’s a dreamlike amount of space, so this definitely won’t be our last visit.

Behind the Natural History Museum, the apartment sits in a typical Wilhelminian-era building, right near the city center and handy for exploring Leipzig on foot. It’s modern and fully equipped, though you should expect some street noise. Picking up the key at a different address wasn’t very convenient, but we still had a pleasant stay in Leipzig.
