On 7 September 2024, we found bedbugs crawling on the tables, floor, walls and beds, with lots of dead ones on the floor and in the lockers. It’s hard to believe the cleaners, if there are any, didn’t know about it. We called the owner’s emergency number for 40 minutes without getting through. Eventually they offered another room, but with bugs in such numbers I couldn’t believe it was limited to just one, so we asked for a refund. It came two days later. Luckily, A&O had rooms available. In four years of extensive travel, this was my first time seeing bedbugs, especially after there had been no previous reviews. Watch out. If I had a booking here in the next few weeks, I’d look elsewhere.

You get what you pay for, and for the price it’s good. The room seemed good at first and the bathroom was clean, but after we left the key inside as instructed, it was still there the next day. So the room wasn’t cleaned daily. Some things were damaged too, like the lock on one toilet. A few staff members were nice, while others were “bitchy”.

Getting around was easy, with the tram just a two-minute walk away and food places close by. Check-in was easy too. I loved staying at the hostel.

The rooms were fairly priced and the staff were friendly. There was a very loud event in the bar downstairs, though, and sleeping was impossible. Fortunately, the key drop box made it possible to check out by myself, even at 4 am.

The hostel was clean and well located, and the staff were friendly. It’s connected to the Oskar restaurant, which was a nice place to get refreshments after dropping off our luggage.
