The peaceful countryside and kind, helpful staff made a lovely impression, and I really enjoyed the food, sauna, and pool. My only small reservation was the room's rather quaint layout: a raised large mattress, little table, and closet took up the space, which I think could have been arranged better.

We spent a couple of nights here. The staff were friendly and clearly doing their best, and the place itself feels calm and thoughtfully designed. Still, the facilities and service don't quite match the price. Sparkling water had to be requested and was only available around 8 to 6. The pool is small, with children's hours taking up much of the day, and dinner seating is assigned. Breakfast felt a bit sad, and the coffee was from the sort of vollautomat you see at a service station. There were screaming children throughout our stay, so I'm not sure whether it's meant to be a family retreat. For us, it came across more as a coworking space with a hotel and small pool than a spa escape. We wanted to love it, but Vabali berlin would have been much more relaxing and immersive, for far less money.

We booked a room at St. Oberholz after stumbling across it online and thinking it looked nice. It turned out to be a perfect weekend away. We arrived a little late, but the staff waited for us and showed us around. We were the only guests that night and enjoyed the place so much. It felt peaceful and welcoming, with kind staff, good food, and lovely nature around us. PS: There's a video online too @sunandsimplicity 😊

We paid 260 euros for one night, and the stay was a horror from beginning to end. My friend's birthday was mentioned in the booking, but nobody acknowledged it. We also tried to raise the problems with our room, only to be told nobody could help because the relevant people had gone. That's not the level of service I expected for that price. The room was directly in front of the restaurant, about 50 centimeters from other guests. We had to keep the curtains shut for even a little privacy. It was so humid I could barely breathe, but opening the windows meant loud conversations right outside and people looking in at us. The windows only opened a little, and people kept talking there until midnight. When we asked staff to do something, they said it would be over soon, but it went on for another two hours. I couldn't sleep or breathe comfortably either way. The room alone cost 170 euros. The food and breakfast added more frustration. We ordered zucchini and got only the vegetable peels. At breakfast, we ordered two drinks without being told they cost extra, then were charged 9 euros. When I raised it at checkout, I was told simply that drinks weren't included in the already expensive breakfast, and that was the end of the conversation. My friend emailed the manager on July 17, six months ago, and was told something would be done right away. We never heard back despite several follow-ups.

The wellness area and pool are stunning, and the hotel itself has clearly been renovated and designed with real care. We had a super relaxing weekend, with beautiful nature, amazing food, and great service. It's a lovely boutique hotel about 1-1.5h by car from Berlin. We'll definitely return.
