Hotel Hirsch

The restaurant service was fantastic, but the glasses for water or juice smelled like sulfur, like eggs. The hotel room was clean and good. I stayed three nights, and the duvet was really too small even for one person. The pillows were awful, very flat with no fluff, and there’s no air conditioning. I visited in summer and had to keep the window open all night, which made things really uncomfortable.

Dinner on July 7, 2022 was lovely. The staff were friendly and attentive, the food was amazing, and the receptionist had confirmed we were booked for breakfast and dinner. But the next evening, the manager made us feel unwelcome and uncomfortable. He checked his list, said our name wasn’t on it, and walked away. When I asked whether there was space inside, he said yes, then turned and left again. Our 94-year-old client asked him to check with reception, but he said he didn’t have time for us. Mistakes happen, but he made no effort to sort this out or accommodate us. We were visiting from South Africa to see our client, who had recently moved back to Germany. He had booked the hotel and was excited for our visit. On July 7, when we arrived to check in, nobody was at reception at first. Eventually the receptionist came, gave us our keys and explained where the room and breakfast room were. That one person’s bad attitude ruined our last evening in Leonberg, when we were meant to say goodbye. I felt awful seeing him treat a 94-year-old with such disrespect.

Breakfast and the rest of the service were perfect. But don’t book a room when it’s over 25 degrees outside, there’s no air conditioning or air-refreshing system.

We had a very satisfying meal at the Restaurant in room Leonberg this past Sunday. The food was first class, the surroundings were lovely, and the staff were very friendly. Definitely worth a visit and a return.
