Zur Eisenbahn

After a serious highway accident delayed us until after reception had closed, Ruth had left our keys and clear directions to the room. She was so helpful and delightful. The clean, comfortable rooms and the location made the stay great too, with Limburg easy to explore on foot. We were there for one night and would stay again.

We only stopped for a night on the way back from a road trip, and the compact room had plenty of modern tech and a nice walk-in shower. The minimalist design felt modern and everything was very clean. From the station, it’s an easy five-minute walk to Limburg centre through the underpass, which also has ramp access for prams. Check-in could be more efficient: one staff member faced a very long Friday evening queue, though he was doing his best. Parking is limited, but the staff were practical and we got a space on site. There’s also a cycle shed or storage area, and it seemed popular with cyclists.

The hotel's cleanliness and location near the town centre were the only real positives for me. I won't stay there again. The room design was odd, with a doorless walk-in shower and sink in the bedroom. I was almost surprised the toilet wasn't in there too. The neon lights on the switches were a questionable touch, and the bed was very soft, though that's a matter of preference. Customer care needs work. The receptionist and the woman in the breakfast room both became rude when I said I don't speak German. The breakfast room staff member didn't speak English and insisted I give her the room number in German. At 4:00 one night, everyone was evacuated into subzero temperatures because someone smoked in a room and triggered the alarm. No hotel staff were there, and we stood freezing outside for ten minutes while the alarm blared, until firefighters arrived and switched it off. It was a very rude awakening, and nobody apologized the next day.

The bed was amazing, and the rooms were super clean, modern and comfortable. Free, secure parking was a real plus, and the location near the city centre was perfect. Definitely recommend it!
