SleepySleepy Hotel Gießen

We had a great impression of this hotel five years ago, but after updating this review, we need to rethink staying here. Over our last couple of visits, every room we had contained silverfish, and now the carpets look awful and are stained. Sadly, we may need to look for a different location :/

We stayed for one night. The rooms were quiet and cozy, and everything had been cleaned properly. The staff were welcoming and friendly.

The rooms are nice, the A/C is self-controlled, prices are good, and breakfast had a good spread. But the staff seemed a bit unprofessional. A family with a baby had to wait an hour and a half for their room to be ready, and the staff handled it poorly.

We couldn't get into the hotel, so after arriving at 22:30 we had to drive on. We'd come by car from Holland and had booked ahead for one night to rest before an appointment farther south the next morning. The website said we could get in, but there was no night reception. A paper on the door gave another number for a security company, but that service could only be reached from a German phone. Calling it gave me a message that the service wasn't available for my regional code. I'm very dissatisfied and want my money back. I hadn't expected this to be possible.
