I booked one night while I was in Lingen for a concert. The place was very clean and had the essentials, but the rooms are simply furnished and some of the furniture is quite old. The bathroom and kitchen are shared among all the rooms. One towel looked used, so I left it aside. The other was clean but had a small stain, so replacing the towels would be a good idea.

The bed linen and towels were clean, parking was available, and check-in was easy. There was a kitchen and the air felt fresh, but there was barely any cookware or seasoning, so we used our camping gear from the car to make breakfast. The rooms are stuffy and smell musty, and some renovation is badly needed: the towel warmer is rusty, with dust and grime in corners and along edges. The mattresses sagged in the middle, and we both woke with severe back pain. One shower and toilet for everyone isn't enough, especially if you have an appointment and need to get up very early. We paid €57 for the night and felt it was €7 too much 😉

Wilhelmshöhe itself has potential, and it looks quite nice in summer, but right now it seems deserted and unclean. The playground also attracts a crowd that feels questionable to me. The reviews here are about Wilhelmshöhe itself. The restaurant is very good, and the events and beer garden are good as well.

It's close to the city center, with little traffic, and the place is affordable. The rooms and other areas are clean, though all the electrical outlets are low down. Service was hit or miss for me: I wasn't sure where to ring the bell, and the person I spoke with was hard to understand.
