Haus Jensen 3

The room wasn't worth what I paid. I rent out holiday apartments myself, so I'm probably more critical than most, but the idea that this place is “cheap” only makes sense because of the Sylt myth. There are serious problems inside. The furniture is worn and broken, the carpet is threadbare, the bed sags and has no mattress protector, and the curtains were dirty. Someone had patched the walls with the wrong paint. The bathroom looked like a brown 1970s relic: the mirror light was out, wires stuck out of the wall, and both the shower tray and thermostat were broken. I couldn't set the water to 37°C. I heard every noise from the neighboring rooms and was woken by the people upstairs. The smell hit me right at the entrance, a strong toilet odor, then chlorine in the room from recent cleaning. At least the place was clean, and the outside, while not especially charming as others have said, was clean too. I can't speak to breakfast. After that awful night, I skipped it.
