Hotel Meyerhof La Rrach

The rooms were especially spacious for a family, and ours was clean, comfortable, and had air conditioning. Breakfast tasted good and was reasonably priced, with the best hotel scrambled eggs we’ve had in ages. We always found a space in the underground car park, although getting in and out was tight. A staff member was always there to guide us, and everyone we met was friendly and helpful. We stayed here as a base for the Women’s Euros in Basel, and staying in Germany was much better value than Switzerland. The train station is a five-minute walk away, then it’s a short ride across the border to Basel Bad or Basel SBB. The modern hotel sits behind restaurants facing the street. Lörrach has some nice restaurants and ice cream shops, and there’s a useful supermarket just behind the hotel. Would recommend.

The hotel staff were hospitable, and the lady at reception helped us with the limited space in the underground garage. Breakfast was a pleasant start to the day, with a tasty range of dishes. Our room was on the small side, but cozy, and the bed was roomy and comfortable for two. There isn’t much to do in town, though the train station is only a five-minute walk away and makes it easy to get to Basel for entertainment and activities. Being right in the town center also means noise outside, especially late in the evening and early in the morning. Still, I enjoyed my stay and appreciated the convenience and the staff’s hospitality.

The rooms aren’t the nicest, but the central location, very reasonable price, and air conditioning for hot summer days were good. I just couldn’t get comfortable on the mattress because of a hollow in it. It felt like a large animal had made a dent, and sleeping was a bit hard.
