Sandbank Hotel & Appartements Lubmin

We liked our stay in the Beach Loft, aside from a few small issues. The staff were friendly, but breakfast could run more smoothly. The selection was okay, though it took a while for things to be topped up. There was orange juice, cherry juice (a special kind), and water, and the coffee from the machine was fine. The cups were quite small, and the hot chocolate was undrinkable because it got mixed with coffee. I pointed this out and they cleaned the machine, but the same thing happened again the next day, so maybe it needs replacing. Breakfast space was limited too. There was a big family gathering while we were there, and they were noisy and not very considerate of the other guests.

Lubmin has a peaceful, uncrowded feel, with natural surroundings, forests, and a lovely beach. There are good places to visit nearby too, including the Viking burial mounds in Menzlin, Owstin Manor, Quilow Water Castle, and Wieck harbor. Our stay at this charming, small, modern and comfortable hotel was well worth it, and we’ll definitely return. Dogs are very welcome. The two of us and our furry friend Rüpel had a tiny top-floor room, but it had everything we needed: a coffee machine, hairdryer, spa amenities, earplugs, sewing kit, shoe-cleaning supplies, and more. Someone had thought through all the little details. Breakfast was delicious; we’d only suggest adding local products like honey, jam, cheese, or sausage from nearby organic farmers. The staff were so friendly and incredibly helpful. We’re especially grateful to Ms. Jeske, who’s a wonderful person. Thanks to the whole team for a lovely break.

We were very happy with our room, the breakfast, and the staff. Check-in and check-out could be done online, and there was free parking. The hotel is newly furnished in a modern style, in a quiet spot not far from the beach. We’d be glad to come back.

Lubmin is a small, peaceful town, and the hotel is a short distance from the water. I’d happily stay again. My room was probably the smallest, at about 12 square meters, but it was clean and modern, with a coffee machine and refrigerator. There’s free parking behind the building. The reception isn’t staffed all the time, so the entrance and room codes arrive by email. It’s in the same area as the breakfast room, which takes a little getting used to. Older guests might find the TV remote a bit tricky. Unfortunately, I couldn’t upload photos because that option wasn’t available.
