We stayed just one night, and the hospitality stood out right away. We were greeted with a smile and offered help carrying our bag upstairs. The staff were easy to talk to, and even let us leave the car in the garage for a few hours after checkout while we walked around town. Parking, if purchased, is in a nearby garage about a minute away on foot. Our room was clean and looked new, with nothing seeming worn. It had a double bed and a separate room where the couch opened into a fairly large bed. The TV worked great and had hundreds of channels. Breakfast was fresh and varied, with good bread and tasty, high-quality eggs. Great rooms, food, staff, and prices. We had an amazing stay.

Parking right by the hotel was limited, so we found a spot about 200 meters away. The hotel is in the center of Lübeck, in an older building with some personality. There's no elevator, but staff kindly offered to carry our luggage. We stayed in July 2023 and found the room comfortable and clean. The king-sized bed was good, and the bathroom was adequate for the hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful, and breakfast had a nice selection. It felt like good value, and we'd happily stay at the Excellent Hotel again. We'd recommend it to anyone looking for a hotel in Lübeck.

The junior suite was wonderful, especially the lake view. Staff were so helpful and friendly, and ending the evening with dessert by the lake was phenomenal. We absolutely loved this hotel.

After paying through Expedia, I was charged again by the hotel at check-in, even though I showed proof of payment. Expedia wouldn't reimburse me because it wasn't a cancellation. Months later, the hotel admitted the double charge and still did nothing. It felt borderline fraudulent, like fraud in plain sight.
