Wakenitzblick

We spent one night here with the family. Our top-floor room had a very nice balcony view facing the river. It’s within walking distance of the old town and bus route 5. The room had basic amenities, and the included breakfast was good and filling.

The breakfast was very good, with fruit, cheese, spreads, meat, yoghurt, bread, and jams. The area is peaceful, with river views, and you can walk to the old town. The furniture is dated but functional, and everything was very clean. The room got rather warm at night, and the curtains didn’t block much sun, which was tough for a light sleeper like me. It might be great in summer if they provide a fan. I had mixed feelings about the staff. The check-in host was friendly and told me to park my bike in the garage. At checkout, though, the staff member tried to charge me the booking fees again even though I’d paid when I reserved. It may have been an honest mistake, but he was sure I was wrong and refused to look at the payment confirmation I kept asking him to read. After several minutes, he checked the booking platform and abruptly said I didn’t need to pay. I wish he’d just looked at the confirmation I was showing him.

The person who answered the calls was rude and unfriendly. Guests shouldn’t be treated that way. They’ve lost our business.

The lake views were great, and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was plentiful, and the room and bathroom were clean. One side of the shower was loose at the base. Recommended for a short vacation.
