Steverbett Hotel

Our host and hostess were absolutely charming, and we enjoyed the pleasant ambience and good food. The balcony was another story. At check-in, we were told it was large and overlooked the river and meadows behind the hotel. Instead, it was only a few feet from the newly built festival hall, with a huge dark grey wall right in front of us. If it had been summer, I would have refused the apartment.

The food was well worth it, with a filling dinner and freshly baked croissants made in-house for breakfast. The accommodation was very nice, the room extremely spacious, and the bed comfortable. Definitely worth staying.

We had a lot of fun hooking up our Playstation 4 to the TV, and the restaurant was easy to reach through a corridor in the main hall. The food there was very nice and the prices were very average. Our stay was great: comfortable beds, a spacious room, and a nice bathroom with warm water coming quickly. There were tables everywhere to organize our things, plus plenty of sockets, which I usually struggle to find. The Wi-Fi was quick and easy to use, with good range. :)

The staff were kind and helpful, but the notes left in the room felt outright rude by comparison. One urged guests to accept less cleaning by pointing out that bees die to encourage us, and another directly asked for tips and kind words for the staff. The audacity seemed intended to train the regulars. Incredible from a Dutch perspective, where tipping is familiar. The room was large but clinically decorated. We couldn't enjoy the balcony because the restaurant terrace directly below was very loud. We had a terrible night with lots of mosquitoes. With so much water nearby, fly screens should be standard.
